Why Do People Too Noisy with Their Problems?
Umm Interesting, this question brought me to write something here again, to be honest.
Classical topic: problem and how to solve it 101? Pfft. Nope, too boring. What would be the purpose of this post then If you could actually find it on Google or Ask ChatGPT for that? (But— I wish Google could index this post as well, haha).
"Wait, what? Did you just hack your life because you have successfully solved all your problems and posted it on this site?" You would probably say this anyway.
I would say that there is no one in the world who doesn't have a problem. We face problems consistently, 24/7, every day. I understand that it may not always be apparent, but problems are still there, quietly waiting behind us. And it doesn't matter whether it's at home, the workplace, on the street, or even in neighboring residences. They can truly occur anytime and also manifest intentionally or unintentionally in our lives. In the past, I often pondered how we could effortlessly and instantly resolve them without excessive overthinking, like waiting for them to flow and go away from us.
However, as I've grown, I've come to realize that it's unrealistic to expect instant solutions without putting in at least some effort. So— What is actually the effort that we need to define or execute for any single of the problems? Of course, flushing your toilet could be the one.
Why do people are so noisy about their problems?
(Disclaimer: please don't blame me. I only try to explain as objectively as I could.)
There are certain behaviors that make us prone to overthinking when dealing with our problems. Indeed, we may first be trying to find a way to relax, right? Initially, we are seeking relaxation and relief, but somehow, we find ourselves unable to achieve it~ Why?
If we are living in an environment that isn't quite conducive to accepting or acknowledging our feelings, we might end up overthinking all the problems we have. Do you agree with me?
Then, we will force ourselves to keep our brains relaxed. Whatever it is— Whatever it takes!
One example, people choose to try to cool down by sharing problems with others who can provide emotional support and validation. People often express their problems to seek empathy, understanding, and reassurance that they are not alone in facing challenges. Sometimes it could also lead us to have an emotional release. Expressing frustrations, fears, or anxieties, whether in public or in a private place (although there's a chance someone could overhear), can help to release built-up emotions and alleviate stress. Is it still normal? Don't worry, Of course, yes, it is!
The second example, "in a religious way" or "spiritual way" often involves seeking guidance, wisdom, and support from religious beliefs. Seek relaxation and faith through prayer or meditation: Engage in prayer or meditation to connect with a higher power. I believe that we are truly into this way for the first time ever.
If we find that we need to move to another place that can offer relaxation, then go ahead and make the move. Allow ourselves to release the stress and burden. If there are options within our city, go somewhere nearby. If that's not enough, consider visiting destinations in our city or even the outer islands. Avoid procrastinating on even the smallest things. Remember, every single thing is just like a dot that can be connected to form a line. Take it before it becomes too late.
Calm down our nerves, take a deep breath and hold for 10 minutes, and exhale it slowl— I mean hold it for 10 seconds only, yeah the ten sec... never mind—As long as we can ensure that we clear up our minds and relax, Eeeeverythiiing is going to be okay, and we can easily move forward!
Overcoming the problem definition
Let's say I asked, "Do we really know what actually happened in the current situation?" I missed this question when trying to recognize the problem, frequently. Therefore, I will always remember to ask this question to myself, not just at a surface level but to dive deep into the ocean of understanding. This way, I can truly comprehend what the problem is.
S.I.T.U.A.T.I.O.N
What is the exact situation that brought us to the problem? Could we recognize the context? Is it because we are too overwhelmed by something? We are exhausted because of too much work outside the office, or is it because the Macbook is broken suddenly a couple of days ago?
In this part, I will create an example of Gerard's situation:
Oh, based on the above-mentioned situations, we can generate more complications as impacts.
C.O.M.P.L.I.C.A.T.I.O.N.S
Despite the fact that His time now is only focused on working to support his family, he has other challenges:
Then we may have further questions right after that complication.
"Is it possible for him not to wait for that long?"
Q.U.E.S.T.I.O.N.S
Is it possible for him not to wait for 5 years to start? This might lead to sub-questions that are even more specific…
As we become more confident that the questions we are asking are the right questions, we will do a quick research and refocus on finding the answer on our own.
A.N.S.W.E.R.S
Gerard tried to find and research it on Google and several articles, web portal universities, and many sources. This is what Gerard found:
[ Question ] Research on Uni-A about tuition discounted fees or programme
[ Answer ] Yes it has, but it will start 1 year after 2023
[ Question ] There is a government loan based on article A, B and C
[ Answer ] There are a student loan with requirements of residence ID
[ Question ] Check all the country scholarships and funding
[ Answer ] Of course there is, called chevening
Whatever we find would help inform our "answers." These are not the ultimate findings, but merely the answers to our hypotheses.
Well done! Take immense pride in our accomplishment of identifying Gerard's hypotheses about the problem. Now, Gerard needs to gather evidence and work on proving these hypotheses to be true.
And make sure don't skip the above-mentioned points, so we have the full structure:
- Situation
- Complication
- Question
- Answer
Pragmatism at first, Slowly but surely
What on earth is "Pragmatism"?
Simply put: Start with what works and keep going.
To make our lives easier, it's best to start with practical solutions and continue exploring and adjusting until we find what works best for a given situation.
Keeping things simple and practical is key. Rather than wasting time on complex solutions, focus on what is effective and gets the shit done. Remember, as long as it works, it works. We can always make improvements later on. Trust ourselves and have confidence in our abilities.
Final Thoughts
In the end, I didn't provide a single word to solve the problem in this post. This isn't a problem-solving type of content. I simply expanded on the mindset that can assist individuals in overcoming procrastination and taking action to address their problems. While I lack the capability to solve problems directly, both Google and ChatGPT do have it, right?
Google and ChatGPT: "Haha, Manusia emang Berisik."
Thank you!
